The 2011 WSOP’s Event 24 is a $5000 no-limit hold’em shootout event. It begins on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at 12 noon Pacific time. This event has a maximum of 2000 players and is scheduled to last 3 days.
The $1500 variety of this same event had close to 1400 players this year. Expect less than that, but the 5K entry fee should make for excellent payouts at the final table.
The expectation is to play the first tables to a winner on the first day. Those winners then must come back and play another table on Day 2. The remaining winners then come on Day 3 and play down to a winner like a regular freezeout poker tournament (where a player must win all chips in play from all players, not just one table like in the first two rounds of a shootout).

On Day 1, there were 387 players who paid the $5000 for this shootout event. The winner will receive $436,568.
